A Short Biography
After completing school Oscar
Wilde went to London to
pursue his lecturing career.
This he chose to do in
aestheticism which was a
philosophy that was on the rise
at that time. The movement (as
that is what it was) was
associated with the sexual
behavior of most of the leading
members Oscar being one of
them. He travelled a lot to get
the ideas of this philosophy to
the masses.
When back in London he
pursued journalism for a
period of time and became
even more popular for his
witticism and his unique style
of dress. It can be noted that
Wilde was very proud of his
heritage.
